Our war is to oppose apathy, self-righteousness, and
ignorance within our own religions. God is not in a
building. He is with his people where they go. The
Holy Scriptures and a personal relationship with God
will unite the children of Abraham. If we listen
and learn from one another, God’s way will be better
understood. Our connection to His dream will be
made clear.
Can you imagine Christian, Jew, and Arab as friends
working together, all three expecting Jesus to
return? I have.
If we would truly listen to one another when not in
agreement, our understanding would change us both.
When a person tells you what they believe, they
trust you to listen. If you listen, they too will
listen to you. Empathize, and step into the life of
those who trust you to hear what they believe to be
true. Care and they will continue to share.
Experience and love enables us to give others hope.
Of the righteous woman it is said; “She
opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to
the needy.” (Proverbs 31:20 (NIV))
“Do not
forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some
people have entertained angels without knowing it.
Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow
prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you
yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:2-3 (NIV))
“Who is like you, O Lord?
You rescue the
poor from those too strong for them. The poor and
needy from those who rob them.”
(Psalms 35:10 (NIV))
“The righteous care about justice for the
poor, but the wicked have no such concern.”
(Proverbs 29:7)
“When you give a banquet, invite the poor,
the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be
blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will
be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
(Luke 14:13 (NIV))
